Overview

A circular walk of just under 12 miles starting in Lower Chute. We walk through the village heading north to Hippenscombe before turning north west along the downs for a coffee stop. After a short road section, we head east to the Fosbury Hill fort for lunch before descending to Vernham Dean. Turning south we walk through Conholt Park back to Chute Cadley and Lower Chute.  The going should generally be good however there is likely to be some muddy woodland and farm tracks. There are a couple of stiles and gates and two short sections of road walking that require the usual care.

Please note it is quite a “lumpy” walk with around 385m (1265’) of ascent/descent.
