Overview

Leaving the carpark, we descend West Woodhay Down to follow paths, tracks and lanes to the North and West of Walbury Hill.  We head North and North West, towards Inkpen, passing over Inkpen Common, and to the North of Inkpen and Lower Green.  Having walked through the grounds of Totterdown House, we turn South making for Ham.  Here, we head South East and climb back up to the Mid Wilts Way, the Test Way and Wayfarer’s Walk via Ham Hill where, following those paths East, we continue along the ridge, passing Combe Gibbet to return to the carpark.

Unless there is significant rain before the walk, the going is likely to be good to firm.  Vegetation is already encroaching over some of the paths and we are likely to encounter livestock.  There is 1 stile in good condition.
