Here is a new walk I have explored which offers different perspectives of the mountains and coastline from the slopes of Mynydd Llandegai. We will visit places you may not have seen previously and enjoy woodlands and streams you didn’t know existed. Here is a whole new world on your doorstep and this walk will introduce you to it!
We will walk from Bethesda Leisure Centre to the cafe at Moelyci and back on a circular route.
I have arranged that our cars can be parked at the Leisure Centre - please park at the far end nearest the mountains and be aware of the one way system on the car park. We will also be able to use the toilets at the Centre. A small cafe has now opened which we can support by purchasing drinks and snacks before and after the walk.
I have also arranged with the helpful staff at the Moelyci cafe that we can take our lunch stop there. The cafe offers a variety of food and drinks and/or we can use the picnic tables to eat our own picnics. Please try to support the cafe which helps to support the local community.
The paths are generally reasonable but there are some steep ascents and descents on grass, stones and mud. Walking poles are recommended and stout footwear is essential.
The walks includes 400 metres (1300feet) of ascent and descent, mostly in the first half.
The walk is suitable for well behaved dogs on short leads but be aware that we may meet sheep, horses and donkeys!
Booking is requested: please text me on 07908 128768 and I will confirm your place.
In the event of a severe weather warning being issued by the Met Office the walk will be cancelled or postponed and the leader will not attend the start. Notice of cancellation will be given on this website and on Facebook at Ynys Môn Ramblers Group.
