Overview

We begin the walk from Hambledon Church, following farmland and woodland paths to reach a viewpoint at Hydons Ball. (also a Memorial to Octavia Hill, a founder of the National Trust). We continue NE through Juniper Valley and South Munstead to pause briefly at Winkworth Arboretum (NT). The walk then progresses southward to Hascombe village (pub drinks and toilets at lunch stop).

During the afternoon we follow the Greensand Way via The Hurtwood and Vann Hill.

A moderate, undulating route with two short, steep ascents. Mostly field and woodland paths. A short roadside link and a few low-traffic lane sections.
