Our varied walk today starts from the Watersports Centre at Strathclyde Park enjoying beautiful views across the loch. From there we continue to the local Duchess Park which was gifted to the people of Motherwell by the Duke and Duchess of Hamilton more than 100 years ago.Upon  leaving there we head to the Clyde Walkway where we will walk along by the river.
  The walk starts at the Watersports Centre. From there we turn right along the side of the loch.Once we reach the beach area turn right out to the road. Once there turn right. Continue until you reach a grassy area and turn left along the path. At the end of the path take left again. Turn at path on right. Follow this path and we reach Hamilton Road beside Parks Garage. Walk up Hamilton Road to cross at the pedestrian crossing. Take first road on right, then first left. Walk up Crawford Street till we reach the Duchess Park. Walk through the park to the other end and turn right onto Airbles Road. Cross at the pedestrian crossing, turn right and  left just past the Electric Bar. Walk along the path onto Elmhurst. From there turn left  and left again up over the footbridge over the railway. Take right onto a footpath. Continue on this path. Once we turn the corner take first path on left. At the end of the path turn right down towards the Clyde Walkway. At the bottom turn right and follow the path back to Strathclyde Park.
Although the Watersports Centre is closed there are toilets and refreshments available.
Walking boots and poles advisable.
