Overview

This walk starts at the end of the Southern Upland Way in Cockburnspath and uses part of the Forth- Farne route towards Dunbar.

We take a woodland path / farm track through Dunglass estate heading to the coast.

We pass from the Borders into East Lothian after crossing the Dunglass burn. It covers rocky shores and cliff top walking before reaching Thorntonloch beach.

The walk continues around Torness Nuclear Power Station before heading for Skateraw beach, Barns Ness Lighthouse, Whitesands beach and Dunbar Loch to our start point at Dunbar Garden centre.

The walk is on well defined farm paths, rocky and sandy beachs and some road walking.

Path verges can have overgrown areas at this time of year.

Some paths could be muddy and there will be rocky and sandy  terrain.

Walking poles may be useful.

Bring  a towel as there may be an opportunity for a paddle in the sea if you wish.
