Hello Everyone
We're walking locally again this Sunday with joint leaders Jean & Phil at Colton a couple of miles north of Rugeley. Their route takes us further north to Admaston on the southern edge of Blithfield Reservoir and nearby Blithfield Hall. Rolling countryside with field footpaths and farm tracks in the main along with approximately twenty stiles make this a Moderately graded event.
As always you're very welcome to join us. First ever time with Chase Ramblers? Excellent, but let us know you'll be coming along if possible a day or two beforehand please, thanks. We look forward to meeting you.
Registration: 09.45. Walk start: 10.00. Walk leaders: Jean & Phil (07419 113055 Jean, 07904 199278 Phil).
Facilities available at the start courtesy of Colton Village Hall, to whom we'd like to make a small donation of £1 per person. Thank you kindly (no loose change please).
Post walk refreshments at The Greyhound, Colton, within staggering distance of the start/finish.
⚠️Our own members should note that there is no rendezvous at Hednesford for this local event. Please go direct to the start.
See you all there on Sunday morning!
Directions: The start is located approximately 1.5 miles north of Rugeley and accessed from there via the A51 and the B5013 Abbots Bromley road.
From either north or south pick up the A51 and continue onto the Rugeley bypass. At the relevant island take the B5013 signed for Abbots Bromley and Trent Valley station.
From Cannock and Hednesford direction take the A460 to Rugeley and at the Miners island proceed straight on into Anson Street, then straight on again at the staggered mini-islands, direction Abbots Bromley. At the A51 island straight over onto the B5013 signed for Abbots Bromley and Trent Valley station.
Once on the B5013 pass under the railway and follow the course of the road around the tight left hand bend and continue for 1 mile until the right turn signed for Colton.
Turn right here into Bellamour Way and nd proceed for 600 yards into Colton where turn left into Reading Room Drive signed opposite for the Village Hall. ⚠️Take care please - it's very easy to miss.
