An 8 mile , circular walk, around the Combe Valley Countryside Park. The walk initially follows a flat course passing through the Filsham Reedbeds { the largest reedbed in Sussex } and the Combe Haven S.S.I before heading to Crowhurst for a picnic lunch stop in the recreation ground. After lunch the walk takes us up hill before heading back down into Combe Valley and then up over fields with far reaching views before heading back down to the cars. We will begin our walk from the 'free' car park, opposite the entrance to Blackbrooks Garden Center in Lewis Road, St. Leonards . The walk is a delight for Birdwatchers and naturalists alike.
Although the walk is 'usually' dog friendly , on the last recce walk Lynn and I were confronted by a number of cows, calves and a bull blocking the path. A detour was found but this may cause a problem for dog owners as the diversion we chose had a locked gate to climb.
