The walk begins on the edge of the Compton Verney estate, whose majestic 18th century mansion was rescued from dereliction in 1993 and beautifully restored and relaunched as an art gallery and venue in 2004 by Sir Peter Moores. We continue to the estate village of Combrook then cross the River Dene and the heavily overgrown track bed of the long abandoned Stratford-on-Avon and Midland Junction railway which joined the Chiltern Line near Fenny Compton. We pass Fossdene Manor and Combrook House before re-entering the Compton Verney parkland at the Lower Pool, returning via Home Farm to Lighthorne Road.
There are 2 stiles and 2 footbridges to negotiate.
