The Chiltern Young Walkers will be heading to Bourton-on-the-Water for a glorious circular walk that starts and ends in this picturesque village dubbed 'The Venice of the Cotswolds'.
Our route will take us along the river Windrush, before we head through wide open rapeseed fields towards the quaint but interestingly named Lower Slaughter. Admiring the beautiful Netherswell Manor above us, we will then make our way through open pasture towards Greystones Nature reserve, which lies on the edge of Bourton-on-the Water, where we will explore the replica iron-age hut and learn about the local history, before returning to the village for a well-deserved ice-cream/hot chocolate depending on the weather.
We will assemble on the green next to the War Memorial in the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water from 10:30 and start walking at 11:00 sharp.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead at all times and are the responisbility of the owner.
Please bring a packed lunch, snacks and plenty of water, and dress appropriately for the weather.

Parking
There are 3 long-stay car parks in the village.
-
The cheapest is Station Road Car Park (GL54 2AA) which is apparently £5/day still but did not used to take card patments - according to reviews it does now but bring cash just in case and can sometimes take a while to pay.
-
Further up on the opposite ride of the same road is Burton Vale Car and Coach Park (GL54 2AA), which is £10.00 for 10 hours (free after 8pm) and reports similar issues with cash/wait to pay online, so factor this in too if you're parking here.
-
The other long stay car park in the village is the Rissington Road car park (GL54 2BN) - £10.10 (up to 10 hours, free after 6pm). This car park takes card.
There are other, smaller car parks and you might be able to find free parking down the side streets at the very edges of the village, but please factor in time for this and park considerately if you do find a spot.
