An afternoon stroll from Waterloo around the area previously known as St George’s Fields, as well as Elephant and Castle to finish at Borough High Street. The walk will include four theatres, three mulberry trees, two churches dedicated to St George, and one pink elephant! There are links to Charlie Chaplin, Charles Dickens and Samuel Pepys. Also, Imperial War Museum, peace garden, workhouses and a court. The walk is mostly on pavements, through parks but there are some busy roads. We will stop for a coffee/tea break and may stop at a pub at the end of the walk.
Toilets at Waterloo Station (main toilets opposite platform 18 are currently closed – use toilets outside station opposite platform 3) and at Imperial War Museum early in walk. No other toilets along the route.
