Overview

A mainly flat walk country walk taking in part of the Basingstoke Canal towpath and passing around Tundry Pond. Mostly on well surfaced tracks but some field crossing with possible mud after rain.

The canal is dotted with pillboxes, tank traps and various Second World War defences. Tundry Pond was used as a mortar range during the war and when drained in the 1980s to aid repairs to the canal embankment, many unexploded bombs were uncovered.
