The Green Mile, a 6.5 mile walk around Haysden Country Park and the lovely village of Leigh.
We start at Cafe In The Park, Haysden Country Park, go past Barden Lake which has 'Green Flag' status since 2006 as it so well maintained. We then head past Stone Lock built with stone from Tonbridge Castle. Next we head past The Medway Viaduct followed by Haysden Water.
We cross over James Christie Bridge and past ‘The Straight Mile’ with it's history of stranded barges!
Over the bridge at Leigh and then past Hall Place and past the gothic looking village halls of Leigh and to the Fleur De Lis pub. Then uphill past The White House and through the churchyard at St Mary’s church, Leigh. Past East Gate Lodge, Hall Place and also past an oak tree belived to be 400 years old.
Across field near Ramshurst Manor and then on to the Plough Inn, past the Powder Mills, back past Haysden. Finally past a pillbox which those who did the first walk I lead with the group will recognise from the Pillbox Safari and back to the Cafe In The Park, Haysden Country Park,
