Overview

An 12 mile walk around the undulating hills of the High Weald. We start at Wadhurst station and then head due west towards Lightlands, built in 1544 on the site of King John’s HuntingLodge. We then join the Sussex Border Path and enter Eridge Park and visit the folly at Danegate.

Our return leg gives us views of Rotherfield before returning to Wadhurst via the high points of Marks Cross and Best Beech and the former convent at The Mount.

This walk is hosted by West Kent Walking Group for the High Weald Walking Festival which runs from Saturday 13th to Sunday 21st September.
