Overview

Hello everyone. We have a foray into the lower Churnet Valley this Sunday so here's hoping for bright sunshine to highlight the autumnal colours. Woodland paths & tracks feature heavily on this walk alongside open parkland affording nice views. Some walking on very quiet lanes. Approximately a dozen stiles. There are a few hills - a couple of them being short & steep - so therefore this is rated as a moderate to strenuous walk.

Fancy it? You're most welcome to join us. If this is your very first time with Chase & District it would be great if you could let us know beforehand. Thank you.

Registration: 09.30. Walk start: 09.45.

Post walk refreshments available in Denstone Hall farm shop cafe who have kindly allowed us to use their car park.

Continue on the A518 around the eastern side of the town by carefully following the multiple signage at the islands for Rocester B5030, which is ultimately joined by turning right at the last island shortly after crossing the A50 overbridge.

Proceed on the B5030 for 2.8 miles, over two islands, and bypass Rocester. After passing the JCB complex and water park turn left at the next island onto the B5031 signed for Denstone. Follow this road for 0.75 mile, crossing over one more island before making a right turn into the Denstone Hall farm shop & cafe car park entrance (not the exit) where then turn left and park up at the very far end of the gravel parking area.  The fifth photo above shows you the exact layout.
