Overview

This walk is challenging in parts. We start at Fairholmes and cross the road to climb through steep woodland westwards. We then descend and cross the Snake Road (A57) to the River Ashop walking along easy paths for a while until recrossing the Snake Road. The ascent to Alport Castlesis long and strenuous, but the views from the top are extradordinary. This is the largest landslip in the UK with some striking rocky features ( but no actual castles!). The clifftop walk back is easier but exposed.
