This is a walk that has kindly been shared with us by Bath Ramblers Group.
A beautiful airy walk from Longbridge Deverill, (near Warminster), which takes us through several pretty villages, and offers excellent views from the Wiltshire Downs.
There are a couple of ascents, one of which is quite steep but short, and a couple of gentle descents.
You may find walking poles useful. Bring drinks and lunch. Dogs are not permitted.
Please meet near the main entrance to the George Inn hotel at 10.00 am, ready to start the walk at 10.15 am. We have permission to use the toilets.
Directions from Bath by car (around 40 minutes, 22 miles): take the A36 to Warminster bypass, then keep on the A36. At the 3rd roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A350 (signed Poole, Blandford). In about 1.7 miles is Longbridge Deverill. Park at the top of the George Inn car park, (we have permission), or in Sand Street opposite.
Unfortunately there are no weekend bus services to Longbridge Deverill.
