Morning walk - Hawkesbury Upton to Kilcott. 4.5 miles. Start at 10 am at Hawkesbury Upton Village Hall. A beautiful walk featuring wildflower meadows, the pretty village of Kilcott and the beautiful Long Coombe where we should see plenty of butterflies. There are 6 stiles and we pass through a field of cows, who behaved well when Carol checked the walk. There are a couple of hills. Moderate walk.
Afternoon walk - The prairies of Hawkesbury Upton 4.5 miles. Start at 1 pm Start from Hawkesbury Upton Village Hall. We will walk the incredibly large fields south of Hawkesbury Upton. We should hear larks calling. We pass through an attractive wood and walk a section of the Cotswold Way with great views across to Wales. Expect more butterflies! No stiles and only one small ascent. Easy/moderate.
Please wear appropriate clothing and bring sun cream, hat or cap, plenty of water and lunch or a snack.
There are two pubs in the village for lunch for anyone not joining the afternoon walk.
