This walk takes in a remote 13th Century church of St Andrews (known locally as ‘the Shepherds church’) and heads up to the South Downs Way for breathtaking views. The route passes the Devils Jumps, 5 Bronze Age burial mounds that are aligned with the setting sun on Midsummers Day.
Note : This is based on the walk advertised in the Ramblers Walk Magazine (Issue 789 Summer 2023) for the South East. The start location has been changed to accommodate easier parking which adds a few miles to the distance.
