The Dimbath valley is a pretty little valley which doesn't seem to get a lot of visitors, despite a section known as Daren y Dimbath being a site of Special Scientific Interest and also favoured by climbing clubs. The colours should be about to start getting autumnal in late September.
We will be walking alongside the Nant Lechyd and then onto forest tracks climbing up out of the valley to reach the Pant y Wal windfarm. We continue on good forest tracks returning to the cars via footpaths through open farmland, with a pub at the end of the walk.
The recent rainfall means there was a lot of running water on the path alongside the river which may still be there on Sunday and must be waded through. Some other paths as we exit the forest may also be very muddy and slippery.
I would strongly recommend high walking boots rather than trainer types, gaiters, wet weather gear and walking poles if you use them, especially if we have more rain during the week.
