Overview

Starting from the Falkland estate car park at Pillars of Hercules, the walk follows the Kilgour road westwards to enter Barrington Muir Plantation and then Drumdreel Wood.  After a short climb through the wood, we follow an undulating path at a higher level past Arraty Den and below Arraty Crags and Black Hill.  The walk finishes along the Beech Hedges path to the foot of Maspie Den and then back to the Pillars car park.  There are good views northwards from the higher level return path.

NOTE:  It is not intended that this walk ascends to the Tyndall Bruce Monument on Black Hill.
