Overview

A 6 mile circular walk from the Star Inn car park at Dylife, climbing to the Roman Fortlet and then following the Glyndwr Way and Cambrian Way routes across the plateau above Dylife. The route features views of Afon Clywedog and disused mines from the southern edge of the plateau.

Follow the A470 westwards towards Llanidloes. Take the third exit at the roundabout towards Llanidloes. At the next roundabout take the second exit crossing the river and take the next road on the left signposted Machynlleth via mountain road. Continue on the B4518 passing through Staylittle then turn left onto a road signposted Machynlleth via mountain road. The Star Inn car park is on the right of the road roughly 1.5 miles from the turning. Alternative parking also available on the left of the road before the car park (when heading west).
