Overview

Brisk pace, with a few hills and stiles. Parkland, woodland and other paths, some quiet roads and pavements.

Walking boots essential, poles recommended if you use them. Please check the weather forecast and dress appropriately, bearing in mind that brisk walking may need the removal and carrying of layers a bit later on.

From along the Western edge of Tring Park we hike past the mystery ruins straight to Hastoe Cross, on to Cholesbury Common and Hawridge Common.

We will stop for hot drinks at Chiltern Velo, where savoury and sweet snacks are also available, (cash or card accepted) at about the half-way point before returning via Wigginton and through the beautiful Tring Park.

Dogs are welcome, must be kept under close control.
