A spectacular walk along different kinds of woodland edges with marvelous views peeping through. Quiet roads and footpaths with a few muddy stretches and 5 stiles with horses in fields near Saunderton.
Views of Bradenham, the new Saunderton data centre under construction with turf covered roof. Views of the Golden Ball topped St. Lawrence Church of West Wycombe as we cross rolling hilly farmland between Bledlow Ridge and Radnage. Past some very nice properties in Radnage. Yew-flanked chalk escarpment approaching West Wycombe.
A well deserved break at the delightful Apple Orchard Cafe in West Wycombe. Back to the St. Lawrence Church car park past Hell Fire Caves and Dashwood Mausoleum.
Moderately hilly at a fairly brisk pace.
Dogs welcome, must be kept under close control.
Much of this walk is along quiet roads (including some gradients, which could be slippery if conditions are freezing) but there are a few muddy stretches too so good boots are essential and walking poles are also recommended. The Apple Orchard cafe accepts card or cash payments.
