About 1500 feet of climbing but slopes not steep.
Park in the National Trust car park at Birchen Edge. which is adjacent to the Robin Hood pub. DO NOT PARK IN THE PUB CAR PARK. Car park is at the junction of the B6050 and the A619. Parking free for NT members so bring your card. There is a charge for non NT Members, usually £5. Car park can accommodate about 30 cars but gets busy so car sharing essential.
