Overview

This is an elliptical walk starting from the Moors long-stay car park on the outskirts of Ellesmere (£2.50 all day - card payment).

From there, we head halfway around the Mere (public loos as approx 1km) before striking out across the fields as far as Welshampton.

From Welshampton there is a short section along a very minor road to join the Llangollen canal.

Most of the remaining walk is along good towpath past Cole Mere and Blake Mere before heading through Ellesmere tunnel (a ‘mere’ 80m In length) back to the start.
