Overview

This is a new venue for us this week with facilities at the start and a cafe at the castle for post walk refreshments. The walk will take us along the River Derwent on woodland paths, fields and some road walking. Generally level with approximately 10 stiles, the walk does include some steps.

The car park is large so our meeting point is near the toilets.

Please note that there is a £7 daily charge. For this reason we will be meeting at Hednesford as detailed below to allow as many people in as few cars as possible! Payment is via an app - see photos.

Chase Ramblers loves to welcome new walkers, just come along with strong footwear, rainwear and/or sun hats, plenty of water and packed food. We have a short coffee break after the first hour then a longer stop somewhere pleasant for our picnic lunch.

Meet in Hednesford Station car park for a prompt 8:30 a.m. start. If travelling independently take the A38 from your home location and follow to the A50 interchange turning right here around Derby. Take the A6 left and then follow the signage to Elvaston Castle and Country Park via the B5010.
