We organise on Meetup, please sign up at the link below to let us know you are coming.
Meet outside Ely station at 10:30, for a 11-mile walk to Prickwillow and back.
The walk will take us via the Eastern bank of the river Ouse onto country lanes to Prickwillow Engine museum.
We will have an extended lunch stop at the Prickwillow museum, which has their monthly event where they run their drainage engines. The entry to the museum is £5. Visiting the museum is optional. As the museum is small, the visit will only be around 20 minutes and there is plenty of seating outside.
The Engine Museum has a small café where you can buy lunch, alternatively please bring a packed lunch.
We will continue via the river Lark back to the Ouse, before heading back to Ely.
The weather has been unpredictable in recent weeks, please dress appropriately for the weather on the day. Please bring plenty of water for the trip.
Toilets are available at Ely Station and Tesco at the start and end of the walk. Prickwillow Engine Museum has toilet facilities available for a small charge.
For those travelling by public transport, there are regular trains from Cambridge. The train leaving Cambridge at 10:03 arrives at 10:21 in Ely. A Super Off Peak Day Return is £4.30.
