Durham City Ramblers is an active and friendly group with a varied weekly walk programme mainly in County Durham
This walk starts from the Stag's Head pub in the centre of Esh Winning, heading uphill to the south to Standalone Farm, along the top eastwards with fine views, then heading north via Ragpath Wood and up via Hag House Farm towards Ushaw College. Along the top again on the other side of the valley, we head westwards past Esh and then southwards back to Esh Winning via Heugh Farm.
Meet in the Market Place in front of the Stag's Head pub in the centre of Esh Winning. Some parking is available in the Market Place, or street parking along Station View, or parking behind the Coop accessed off Newhouse Road.
