We are the Pontypool Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The route starts by crossing Ewyas Harold Common before descending to the Cistercian Dore Abbey founded in 1147. We then follow the River Dore north to Bacton on the Herefordshire Trail. Some road and a moderately steep climb over farmland will take us back to the common for the return. There are a number of stiles on this walk.

Car park on the recreation ground. In Ewyas Harold (turn right opposite the fish and chip shop into School Road. At the end turn left and then left into Priorsfield. Beyond the church, turn right into the recreation ground).
