Overview

This circular walk starts from the free Falkirk Wheel North car park then heads towards the wheel crossing a bridge over the Forth &Clyde canal, past the visitor centre and through Roughcastle Tunnel alongside the Union canal. We cross a bridge into the woods then take a path following a section of the local History trail towards Roughcastle Community Woodland then turn towards the cafe at Canada Wood. We head back towards the Falkirk Wheel crossing a bridge over the railway, along a section of a Public Right of Way back to the car park. The route is on a well defined, mainly gravel paths.
