These two Munros – commonly known as the Easains – give a fairly long, but rewarding, ridgewalk high above the glacial trough of Loch Treig. The route is an out and back climb over Stob a'Choire Mheadhoin to Stob Coire Easain. There is a good track at start, then the initial ascent follows a muddy and rough path to Meall Cian Dearg – the start of the main ridge. From there, the route crosses fairly level ground before rising to Stob a'Choire Mheadhoin. There is a rocky descent and ascent to Stob Coire Easain from which, on a clear day, there are excellent views of the Grey Corries.
Estimated finishing time: 5.30pm off hill, 8.30pm back at West Port.
Due to a forecast of gale force winds over these Munros on Saturday, accompanied by rain, the walk leader, Deirdre Evans, has decided to change the date of the walk to Sunday 10 August. The meeting time is the same - 6.30am at West Port, Linlithgow.
