Meet at Stamages Lane car park, Painswick at 9:45 for a 10:00 start. For this traditional festive walk we shall be offering mulled wine, hot apple cinnamon punch, warm mince pies and stollen bites before the walk.
The walk itself takes us through this historic village, and along country lanes and paths up valley to Cranham Corner before a climb up to Painswick Beacon, with far-reaching views on a clear day, returning along the Cotswold Way.
After walk refreshment at The Oak.
We shall stop for a picnic lunch towards the end of the walk. The Oak serves food and you may wish to take eat there. It appears that booking is not required but it is up to individuals to make their own arrangements.
Facilities and shops are available in Painswick.
Parking is currently free and tends to be busy probably for that reason.
Paths, particularly in the valley, will be muddy at this time of year. Dress appropriately. Walking poles may be useful.
