We are the South West Sussex Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A figure of 8 made up of a Morning and Afternoon Loop
Morning Loop (10:15 start) 4.5 miles
From West Dean a longish but not too steep climb up Monarchs Way to the Trundle. Circuit of the Trundle, panoramic 360 degree views. Down across Hayes Down to Centurion Way. Flat paved track back to West Dean.
Afternoon Loop (13:15 Start) 6 miles
From West Dean we take Monarchs way via Whitedown Plantation, Brick Kiln Farm to Kingly Vale. Return via Dean Cottages & Binderton Lane, crossing the Centurian way and taking the footpath back to West Dean.
Lunch stop at Selsey Arms, West Dean cafe or picnic. Those not doing the afternoon loop can leave by car or number 60 bus from outside Selsey Arms.
Note : Parking is available but somewhat limited.
Coming from Chichester on A286 take right turn just before Selsey Arms Pub. Meet on the common area on Church Lane just down from West Dean Stores. Church Ln, West Dean, Chichester PO18 0QY
