Finchley & Hornsey is a friendly group, open to everyone. We walk mainly in Herts and surrounding counties.
Join us for a figure of eight walk to celebrate the summer solstice. The morning walk is 3.5 miles of easy walking from Highgate woods to Alexandra park and back. The afternoon is 6 miles of moderate walking on some of the lesser trod paths of Hampstead heath and the extension. Join us for either or both walks or just for the picnic in the open space in the middle of Highgate woods (outside gate to cafe). Bring some nibbles to share at the summer solstice picnic.
Both walks are mainly on good footpaths, although can be muddy after rain. There are some short stretches of residential road walking on both walks. The morning walk will avoid the very hilly stretches.
