Starting in lovely Firle village, this circular South Downs walk climbs to the ridge near Firle Beacon, where expansive views open across the downs and a line of prehistoric burial mounds.
The route then heads towards Alfriston over open chalk grassland and quieter valley paths, before continuing to Berwick. Berwick Church is a highlight, celebrated for its remarkable murals by artists linked to the Bloomsbury Set, while nearby Charleston Farmhouse adds another rich cultural note.
On the return leg, the walk passes Firle House before looping back into the village.
