An invigorating walk with some outstanding scenery and views. From the Fish Hill picnic site we go first through some woods and then join an access road down, quite steeply at the end, to the Foxhill Manor complex. From there we contour along, past Saintbury Church, and then make a steep climb all the way up to the topograph on Dover's Hill, where we will stop for a picnic and to enjoy the lovely views. For the remainder of the walk, we then follow the Cotswold Way, on an easy and gently undulating path, all the way back to our start point.
Care will be needed in the woods where are lots of tree roots. Apart from this, most of the walk is on a mixture of good paths, tracks and tarmac. There are only a few stiles. The uphill is pretty steep but we will be taking it slowly and steadily, with stops where necessary. We may meet sheep, and just possibly cattle, in one or two fields.
Bring refreshments. Suitable for well-behaved dogs on leads.
Note: There are toilets at the picnic site, but these may not be open.
