Our circular walk from Fiskerton Riverside Car Park, heads over to Fiskerton Mill, and takes us through the village of Rolleston where the children's author Kate Greenaway spent many a happy day during her childhood years. You will see a plaque on the house where she lived and also there is a trail named after her.
From there we head over to Southwell Racecourse, and onto to the village of Morton, over the fields to Hazleford Lock weir where we will take lunch.
After lunch we hug the river & return to the car park.
The walk is mainly flat, mostly over fields with some stiles and road walking. There is a flight of 13 wooden steps to climb
In addition to going through the village where the children's author Kate Greenaway spent some of her childhood days we can also see where the final battle of The War of The Roses took place at East Stoke.
There will be coffee and lunch stops and drink breaks in between.
Please register for this walk on Newark ramblers website , where you will also find details of our car share scheme.
