Overview

The walk starts by passing through Nagshead RSPB reserve and then follows the old railway line to the site of Darkhill ironworks. After meandering through the woods we have a lunch stop by an abandoned sandstone quarry, then pass by an old freemine before walking alongside Cannop Ponds back to the start.

A moderate walk taken at a leisurely pace.

Bring a packed lunch.
