We start the walk from Tompsetts Bank CP on the northern edge of Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Course passing Greenhall Cottage, Lavender Platt, Smock Farthing, Birch Grove House with lunch stop at The Red Lion at Chelwood Gate. After lunch we pass the Isle of Thorns on the edge of the forest then the Ashdown Forest Hotel and the Birches returning to the CP
We only have one stile. Even though we have 1300ft of assent there are no steep hills. There are some good views
If travelling on B2110 from Hartfield, after entering Forest Row turn left into Chapel lane then drive to the top and turn right where the CP will be found on the left after about 50yards.
