This is the 2nd stage of Bolton Ramblers circumnavigation of the Greater Manchester boundary.
Starting from the tram stop at Sale Water park we will be predominantly following the river Mersey, as it meanders upstream, to Didsbury Village. Passing by Chorlton Water park we should be able to spot varied water fowl, as well as Herons on the River itself. After pausing to eat our packed lunch we will continue our route, by way of a short exploration of Fletcher Moss park, before arriving in Didsbury Village.
There are a number of shops, cafes and bars in Didsbury Village. Those wishing to do so may choose to visit some of them, before taking the regular tram service back into Manchester.
The GM ringway walks use public transport. Please check the current timetables as schedules can change. Please bring a packed lunch and drinks. We recommend suitable clothing and sturdy shoes or boots on all our walks.
There are ongoing path improvements along the River Mersey and diversions may be in operation. The walk leader will take these into consideration to ensure that the walk remains suitable.
