Overview

The walk starts at Symondsbury and, after an interesting and ancient beginning, crosses fields down to Chideock then more fields to join the coast path. Up and over Golden Cap then onwards to Chardown and back to Symondsbury Estate car park via Hardown. A steady climb up to GC and a shorter climb up to Hardown but overall the walk is moderate. There will be mud and some parts of the path are slippery  and there are muddy puddles in places. I strongly recommend having sticks with you for the downward sections. I have everything crossed for a fine day. It will be 3rd time lucky if I get one!!! We will need to be mindful of time, hence the earlier start, so the pace will be brisk when on easy walking stretches. Picnic, no dogs.
