Overview

Walk around one of the Dark Peak's most scenic areas; this walk will start by Errwood Reservoir in the beautiful Goyt Valley, then climb past the ruins of Errwood Hall to Shining Tor, the highest point in Cheshire at 559m. On a clear day there are far ranging views across north Shropshire and the Cheshire plain to the mountains of North Wales, and across Merseyside and Greater Manchester to the Lancashire coast and hills beyond. From there we go past Cat's Tor to the village of Kettleshulme and back along the River Goyt to the start point.  Option for walk round Pavilion gardens and meal in Buxton after the walk (please advise 4 days before if coming for meal).
