Leave Low Green via the pedestrian bridge and walk past the Captain Cook Memorial Garden to access a footpath which takes us across fields to the bridge connecting with the High Street. Follow road and cross with care to pick up footpath heading towards Cliff Rigg Quarry. Climb quarry and circle around the rim before descending down to walk through the bluebell fields. The walk skirts around the westerly side of Roseberry Topping to reach Roseberry Common and the bridleway that descends to Aireyholme Farm. Follow the road down to cross Dikes Lane with care and follow road opposite before turning right on to permissive path leading to Fletcher's farm shop and cafe. On reaching main road we turn left and then right over stile to return to Low Green via cricket ground and fields so avoiding the busy High Street.
There will be a ten minute break near Aireyholme farm where there is a small self service farm shop facility selling drinks, cake and eggs. Machine operated accepting coins notes and contactless cards. Please feel free to bring a drink/snack of your own to enjoy or try the self service machine.
Some stiles. One field with livestock. Horses. No problem on recce.
