We are Herts Weekend Walkers, HWW for Short . We are aimed at people aged in their 40s, 50s & 60s who are normally working during the week and can usually only find time to get outside and enjoy a walk at the weekend.
We start our walk outside the Red Lion PH. We take the Chalk Hill in the direction of Charlton crossing the Chiltern Way at Temple End. We turn right at the farm at Wellhead into Maydencroft Lane. We turn right again up the hilly Tatmorehills Lane (track) before reaching the Chiltern Ridge at Sootfield Green, then heading towards West Wood and taking the path back to Great Offley to complete our walk.
Please park with consideration around the village.
Dogs are welcome but will need to be on leads on some road walking stretches.
It has been one of the wettest winters for sometime. This is a moderate pace walk but may include some steep paths in open countryside. Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing are essential.
This is a moderate pace walk. We want everyone to enjoy our walks, if you have any concerns about the pace please speak to the walk leader. Please bring your Ramblers card (if you have one) to help speed up the Ramblers register before we start the walk.
