Into the hills for this one folks!
Our route is designed for a longish but gradual ascent of Gun. Excellent views if the weather is good. A little bit of road walking and 21 stiles in total. Poles recommended if you have them.

Directions for you:
Our start point is located three miles north of Leek, Staffordshire. The shortest route from there is via Abbey Green Road, Leek, as detailed below, or take the A53 Buxton Road out of Leek for 2.5 miles, then turn left for Meerbrook at The Three Horseshoes pub.
To Leek via the A520. At the first set of lights in Leek go straight on and proceed for 300 yards to the T-junction with the A523 where turn left signed for Manchester and Macclesfield. Continue downhill for 0.4 mile to turn right immediately before Leek Conservative WMC into Abbey Green Road, signed for The Abbey Inn, and follow this road without deviation for 3 miles to Meerbrook where park in line on the right hand side of the road (i.e the footpath side) before the T-junction.
