This walk begins in the charming village of Haddenham. We will follow the Fen Side Track, a well-trodden path which offers beautiful views of the surrounding fenland. We will pass through areas rich in wildlife, making it a great opportunity for birdwatching. The path leads to a small village of Aldreth.
From Aldreth, we head southwest to follow the historic Aldreth Causeway. The Aldreth Causeway was one of three main routes into Ely. It served as a crucial connection between Cambridge and Ely, especially before the mid-17th century drainage of the fenlands
This path will leads to the Old West River, part of the River Great Ouse. We will follow the Rothschild way along the river before heading back to Aldreth and then to Haddenham.
