Meeting at Hadleigh Salvation Army Rare Breeds centre Castle Lane Hadleigh Essex ss7 2ap toilets and pay and display carpark available , although there is free parking on the road
we will walk down to Hadleigh Castle ruins then proceed through Hadleigh Country Park on well defined footpaths to Leigh Station refreshments and toilets are available at the station
we then follow the coastal path which runs along the salt marshes onto Two Tree Island
Two Tree Island is largely a Nature Reserve with numerous wetland ares for observing birds from designated bird hides.We circle the entire island via Well established paths before looping back round at Leigh on sea driving range toilets and refreshments available here
We then climb uphill back to Hadleigh castle then onto the Rare breeds centre
distance approx 8 miles. 3 to 3.5 hours
plenty of areas to stop for refreshments and toilets on route
This is a leisurely walk through Hadleigh Country Park mainly flat on well defined pathways
Taking in the ruins of Hadleigh Castle and the flora and fauna of Two Tree Island Nature Reserve
There is only one hill on the way back to Hadleigh Castle
