We are the Chase & District Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Something slightly different to our usual Sunday walk this week with Eve. A shorter circular 6.5 mile easy walk including a tour of the historic Sandfields Pumping Station( payment required, see below) in Lichfield. The route to the pumping station will start in Hammerwich at 9am and will include a part of the newly extended McClean Way.
Registration 8:45am for prompt 9:00am start.
The cost of the tour will be £3 for Chase members and £6 for others and will include tea/coffee and biscuits. The tour normally lasts approximately one hour.
Please let Eve know if you intend to be on this walk so that we can give the Pumping Station a rough idea of numbers for catering and tour guides.
In view of the anticipated return time there will be no lunch stop on the walk.

Directions:- From Cannock/Hednesford take A5190 towards Lichfield. On leaving Burntwood turn right at lights signed Hammerwich. In Hammerwich bear left into Hall Lane, continue for 1kilometre then sharp left and right into car park. NB:Please park at far end of car park. Directions from fishery web site:- Coppice Lane, Hammerwich, near Lichfield, West Midlands. From Lichfield take the A461 Walsall Road from the Friary Roundabout,at the A5190 junction continue A461 for 1.6 kilometre then turn right along Coppice Lane and bear left at the fork in the road. Car park is immediately on the left. Or at Muckley corner A5, follow signs for Hammerwich, approximately 1k at fork bear right. Fishery is immediately on your right.
