Another old favourite walk familiar to many - BUT, I suspect it will be a bit muddier than last time it was offered in August, the fishermen will all be in winter gear, and the cornfields may well have been harvested. AND - last time we did it in reverse, so will ring the changes and do it 'original' direction.
We set out from the car park at Hampton in Arden Sports Club, weave through the back streets, then head into the fields behind the town and due south, through Walsal End and down to Oak Lane. Then we head North, with a mild upward incline to give us a view of of the Golf Club and lakes.
Over more fields, then over Packhorse Bridge (may be muddy!) and round the lakes.
Then back into Hampton in Arden via the quiet Marsh Lane, and the paths parallel to the railway line.
One stile. One Bridge with a step. Some mud. BUT also should be some lovely autumn colour.
Park at Hampton in Arden Sports Ground. ShadowBrook Lane, B92 0DQ.
The pubs in Hampton in Arden tend to be (a) a bit posh and (b) not always open...
BUT, if anyone fancies a pub lunch afterwards the Bull at Barston is pretty close.
If folk fancy just coffee - there are plenty of coffee places in nearby Meriden.
